Learn About Fair Housing Laws
Fair Housing Disability Training
Next in the Fall 2019 Housing4Hoosiers Tenant/Landlord Series:
Did you know that disability complaints are among the most commonly filed fair housing complaints nationally and in Indiana?
The federal Fair Housing Act was originally passed in 1968, yet, many housing providers and consumers still do not know about fair housing laws. All tenants, landlords, and service providers are invited to attend a FREE Fair Housing Disability Training. South Central Indiana Housing Opportunities is hosting this event in partnership with the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana, and support from a 2019 Sophia Travis Grant.
- Date: Thursday, October 17th
- Time: 1:00-4:00 PM
- Location: Ellettsville Town Hall, 1150 West Guy McCown Drive, Ellettsville
- Registration: Housing4Hoosiers.org
During this training, we will take an in-depth exploration of the disability specific regulations under fair housing laws. This will include an overview of the protected classes and major rental regulations. The training will also provide focused housing attention on:
- reasonable accommodations;
- reasonable modifications;
- design; and
- construction accessibility requirements.
The Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana offers a variety of topical fair housing trainings across Indiana. To learn more, or to register, visit www.fhcci.org/events
