Housing & Eviction Prevention Project

Free assistance to tenants and landlords in Bloomington/Monroe County

Renters and landlords in Monroe County now have more ways to reduce evictions and solve housing problems. Anyone in the community with rental questions is welcome to use services offered by the Resource Project. Services include mediation, legal and social services to address housing challenges.

Housing & Eviction Resource Project services  are currently being provided via

  • email at evictionavoidance@gmail.com 
  • telephone at 812-340-8189

Hours: Wednesdays 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, Thursdays 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, and Fridays 9:00 am – 11:00 am.

NOTE: We will post an update when on-site services resume at the Monroe County Justice Building.

Who can use the Housing & Eviction Prevention Project?

Anyone in the community with rental questions is welcome. Services offered include mediation, legal and social services to address housing challenges.

Who provides the services?

Resource Table services are provided collaboratively under a partnership between

  • Community Justice and Mediation Center (CJAM)
  • Justice Unlocked (JU)
  • District 10 Pro Bono
  • South Central Indiana Housing Opportunities (SCIHO)

Is there a fee?

No, services are provided free of charge thanks to grant support through 2020.

How can I help?

We are now seeking additional funding to be able to continue this service in 2020! If you or your company is interested in supporting the Housing & Eviction Prevention Project, please reach out to us at evictionavoidance@gmail.com.
