The Gap-Indiana 2026 County and State Legislative District Maps

Indiana’s housing crisis affects all parts of the state, including rural, urban, and suburban communities alike. To accompany ‘The Gap-Indiana 2026’, co-released by Prosperity Indiana and the National Low Income Housing Coalition, PI has created maps with data about the lack of affordable and available housing and rates of severe housing cost burden for the most vulnerable renter households by county and state legislative district. These maps illustrate Indiana’s lack of housing supply and affordability at the county, state legislative district, and (for the first time in 2026), at the federal Congressional levels.

These maps will allow Prosperity Indiana members, partners from the Hoosier Housing Needs Coalition, and other community stakeholders to bring data to Indiana’s policymakers to aid with their decision-making and ensure that all Hoosiers have a safe, stable, and affordable place to live.

Find below interactive maps that show:

  • Deficit of Affordable and Available Rental Units
  • Affordable and available rental units per 100 renter households at or below 30% if Area Median Income
  • Percentage of Extremely Low Income Renter Households Severely Housing Cost Burdened

How to use these maps:

  • First, find your Indiana legislators. Then, scroll your cursor over the district. The top number displayed is the district number. The bottom number is the statistic measured for that district for each map.
